Future-Ready Leadership, Technology Adoption and Strategic Foresight Study
Many organisations know they need to use emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, automation, augmented reality, virtual reality or robotics to build a sustainable, innovative and future-ready business. However, leadership teams often lack the time, methodology or evidence base to assess the opportunity properly, turn it into a practical business or product development plan, and identify the people, skills and change processes needed to deliver it.
MSc Enterprise Management students studying at UCB can help employers review their current position, examine future technological and market opportunities, and develop evidence-based proposals for future readiness. Students will explore how leadership, change management, talent planning, sustainability, futureproofing, AI, foresight methods and horizon scanning can support organisational transformation.
This is particularly suitable as a multi-student project, where 5–6 students work on research and strategic proposals so the employer can compare ideas and use the strongest recommendations to inform a business, product development or organisational change strategy.

What tangible outputs could students deliver?
1. Strategic Foresight Report
A structured report setting out evidence-based recommendations for how the organisation can prepare for future technological, market and organisational change.
2. Technology Adoption Options Review
A review of potential technologies, tools or digital approaches that could support innovation, efficiency, product development or service improvement.
3. Leadership and Change Recommendations
Practical recommendations on leadership style, change management approach, talent management and implementation considerations.

No. This is a strategic research and planning project. Students will review options, analyse evidence and make recommendations. Implementation decisions and delivery remain the responsibility of the employer.
Depending on the brief, students could examine areas such as Artificial Intelligence, automation, augmented reality, robotics, digital tools, sustainability technologies, horizon scanning tools or other future-facing approaches.
As a Masters project, we would expect each student to spend around 16 hours per week working on the project.
Yes. The project can focus strongly on leadership, change management, talent planning, reskilling, upskilling, capability building and organisational readiness.
This project is well suited to a small group of around 5–6 students, each contributing research and proposals that the employer can compare and draw from.
It depends on your project. As a largely desktop exercise, this project could be completed entirely remotely. If you do require them to attend your premises, you will need to cover their out-of-pocket expenses. We are unable to fund student expenses.
If students are working remotely, it's important to have short weekly check-ins to ensure everything is going well and on-track. We recommend scheduling a Teams call at the same time each week to create predictability.
It depends on your project. In this case, the student only requires access to a laptop or tablet to create their report, which they will already have for their studies. However, if you want them to visit competitors, customers or suppliers you will need to cover their out-of-pocket expenses. We are unable to fund student expenses.
